These are pictures from my December 2006 trip across the southern part of the US.  This trip was my first real ride on the 2005 BMW R1200GS that I purchased in November.  I was very pleased with the performance of the bike.  It lies somewhere between the comfort of the Goldwing and the utility of the BMW F650GS.
